Sanda House is the oldest house in Orford and is heritage listed. The original kitchen was built in 1825 (now the Rose room) and the main house in 1840. Known locally as the old Post Office (1876-1940) it is nestled in an acre of cottage garden, chooks, orchard and veggie patch. The house is built from local field and sandstone - romantic and private, esp the Rose room. Some guests have felt the benign presence of people who have lived here in the past. Four bedrooms (Rose, Jasmine, Mulberry and Wisteria) have been set aside for guests, each furnished with our collection of antiques, with all the comforts, retaining the original colonial look and feel. The Rose room (double + single) has a wood-fired heater and was originally the kitchen. The large old fireplace and bread oven are still there. View over front garden.
