In spring take a stroll along tracks which move through a variety of natural ecosystems to search out wildflowers.

In summer? Launch yourself on the clear waters of the Nicholson River in an inner tube or find your own totally private river beach to enjoy.

Autumn brings vivid colours to the romantic European garden which surrounds the homestead and is a great time to discover relics from the gold mining which attracted the original settlers.

Winter is all about cosy fires, crisp starry skies to wonder at and stories about life in the bush throughout the ages told after warming dinners.

Whether you simply relax or explore all that Waterholes has to offer you will find every sense refreshed and delighted by your stay here in an Australian Eden.

Located in the hinterland of the Gippsland Lakes just a pleasant forest drive from Lakes Entrance, Metung and Paynesville, Waterholes Guest House/B&B/ bush land retreat offers visitors entry into the magic of the Australian natural environment without compromising their comfort.

Waterholes is easily accessed from the Great Alpine Road and the Sydney to Melbourne Coastal Drive making it a perfect stop-over for travellers exploring these touring routes.

We are also available as a 'Naturally Magic' wedding venue.

On arrival step out of your vehicle into a well of peace and beauty.

Feel your spirits lift as you breathe in the clean eucalypt infused air and become aware that every sound you can hear is produced by nature.

Enter your interesting modern suite overlooking a truly unique location.

Watch native animals in the wild from your balcony or on a guided spotlight walk. Amble down through the romantic gardens to delicious meals taken according to your personal timetable and designed to suit your particular tastes.

Your room with a view! Modern. Extreme attention to detail and comfort. Three large suites, each with king size double beds, can also accommodate four singles comfortably.

Our guest house is separated from the main dwelling by a short walk through the garden, and is designed to delight in every way! Each of our rooms has en-suite facilities, which includes both an extra large bath and a shower. Private balconies provide a delightful spot to breakfast.

King size luxury beds are only one feature of rooms generous enough to live in. A lounge room / library offers a congenial place for guests to socialize, or just to relax with a book (snuggled up in front of the fire in winter).
