Mount Warning Holiday Park is at the base of majestic Mount Warning on the far north coast of New South Wales. The Park is situated on 15 acres with mountain streams and tropical forest with 150 powered and camping sites. On site accommodation consists of Deluxe, Ensuite and Budget Cabins as well as Overnight Vans. Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement. Mount Warning (Wollumbin) was named by Captain James Cook on his voyage when discovering Australia in 1770 as a warning to seafarers of the dangerous reefs that surrounded this section of the coastline. Mount Warning is the largest Shield Volcanic Caldera in the Southern Hemisphere are the second largest in the World. It is over 20 million years old and the outer crater walls are 60km apart. It's remant magma chamber and central vent is 1157 metres high and provides a challenging trek to the top to enjoy the 360 degree views. MOUNT WARNING IS THE FIRST PLACE ON THE AUSTRALIAN MAINLAND TO RECEIVE THE MORNING SUN - ITS SUNRISES ARE AWESOME
